Join the Parade!

We are encouraging decorated bikes, pedestrian groups, floats, bands, dancers,  street performers and more.  Let us know your ideas.

Remember that a float doesn't have to look like the ones you see in the Rose Bowl (not that we would object to that!) but can be a people-powered push cart, a small hand wagon or trailer or even a boat trailer, with or without a float.  We want to celebrate Stoneham and the groups that make our town a great place to live.

We need Volunteers too

We are also seeking a large number of volunteers to help with logistics, carry banners, dress up in costumes and help with publicity.   A volunteer link is below.  You can also learn more on the parade participant information page.

Parade Route

The parade begins at Stoneham High School on Franklin St., travels down Franklin St to Central Square, taking a right onto Main St ( Rte 28) and proceeds to Elm Street, taking a right and then another right onto Central Street where it ends at the Stoneham Middle School.

Volunteers will be at both locations to assist.

Parade staging is at Stoneham High School Parking lot.  Follow the signage to check in area, where you will be assigned your staging location. Check-in begins at 11:30 am on October 4. Franklin Street will be closed to traffic at approximately 2:30 pm. Please make every effort to arrive before the street closure.

Please note that parking at the High School for vehicles not in the parade will not be available.  Parade participants that are not with a vehicle should be dropped or park at the Middle School and shuttle to the High School.  Stoneham Central Middle School, 101 Central St and volunteers will direct you to shuttles. The last shuttle leaves at 3:00 pm.

Also note that there is NO PARKING at Rec Park, along the parade route of Franklin and Main Streets, on Central St (between Emerson and Common Streets), on Church Street, or in the Emerson Street lot at Town Hall.    These are public safety closures for the parade, the event on the Common, and for set up of the drone show. Similar to Town Day, Central St between the Square and Common Street will be Closed to Vehicle Traffic once the parade passes that point (approximately 4:30-5 pm) and Main Street reopens.

Porta-potties will be available at Town Hall.
